My art career began with sand-carving glass. The techniques of layering, gouging and shadowing the glass became a passion. This was followed by two years of bronze sculpture. Now I enjoy metal sculpture. My wall sculptures, made of mild steel, are plated with bronze or copper, patinaed with heat or chemicals, and ground or gouged for a variety of textures. Each layer is set off from the previous by a half inch – providing a three dimensional effect. All pieces are welded to form a solid structure and rust protected. I also create free-standing sculptures and fountains.
